Bloody-Disgusting have an awesome article up about a pitch made to Platinum Dunes by Federico D’Alessandro (head story-board artist at Marvel) to reboot the Halloween franchise.
He created a 9 minute animatic short to pitch his ideas which has since been uploaded to youtube and can be viewed here.
Sadly talks fell through and his vision of the film never came to fruition, this is an interesting look at what happens with pitches to studios though and shows a very cool idea for a re-launch of the franchise.
